Job description

Role Summary
Own Utility Profit’s conference and event channel end-to-end, from revenue strategy to on-site execution. This role carries a revenue quota and will be directly responsible for generating pipeline, closing deals, and expanding existing accounts through in-person events. You will lead everything from selecting conferences to executing on-site experiences — and you’ll personally engage prospects and customers to hit revenue targets.

Your compensation will include base salary plus commission tied to event-generated revenue.

This is a hands-on, quota-carrying role requiring proven experience both selling in-person and managing complex event operations.

Core Responsibilities

Revenue Generation & Sales Enablement

  • Carry and achieve a revenue quota tied to conferences and events.
Engage directly with prospects and customers at events to qualify leads, present solutions, and close deals.

  • Partner with Sales leadership on pre-event targeting, territory alignment, and meeting booking.

  • Drive upsell and cross-sell motions with Customer Success (e.g., promoting new features, adoption campaigns like renters insurance).

  • Develop post-event follow-up processes that accelerate pipeline conversion.

Strategy & Planning

  • Build an annual events calendar that prioritizes revenue impact and target audience reach.

  • Select conferences and sponsorships based on ROI potential.
Align event strategy with sales and product marketing leadership.
Create repeatable playbooks to scale event execution.

Event Logistics & Execution

  • Manage venue selection, sponsorship negotiations, vendor contracts, and travel.

  • Oversee booth setup, signage, promotional materials, and technology.

  • Organize high-impact ancillary events (happy hours, customer dinners, VIP meetings).

Measurement & Optimization

  • Track and report on event-attributed pipeline, closed revenue, CAC, and ROI.

  • Continuously refine the event mix, messaging, and engagement strategies based on performance.

Job requirements

Qualifications

  • 4+ years in field marketing, event-based sales, or conference management with measurable revenue results.

  • Proven ability to close business from event leads.

  • Strong ability to operate independently in both strategic and tactical capacities.

  • Skilled at building relationships with senior decision-makers in-person.

  • Comfortable managing end-to-end event operations.

  • Able to travel ~30–40% of the time.

Success in This Role Looks Like

  • You meet your revenue and CAC goals.

  • Every conference produces measurable ROI in the form of qualified leads, customer expansions, or strategic partnerships.

  • Events are executed flawlessly, on time, and on budget, with a repeatable process in place.

  • Sales and CS teams consistently report that events create meaningful opportunities and accelerate deals.

  • The Utility Profit brand is visible, consistent, and differentiated at every in-person event.
